Blog of the Week #1

I am going to start a blog of the week as I am reading a hell of a lot more blogs these days. I think I have found some gems which I not only read everyday, but they get me thinking all day which I think a good blog should do (Note this Lee).

So my first blog is Rebellious Arab Girl. I only started reading this blog this week but am hooked. It is a bit of a depressing read though so maybe not for everyone.

Here is here about me:

My name is Mona and I am of Palestinian decent. I decided one day to start a blog. Although I bought this domain 7 months before I launched it; I had too much anger and rebellion in me from a long time. I waited because I was going through a rough time and I wasn’t as talkative and wanting to speak out. I finally decided to rebel against everything that I see wrong. Therefore, on my 25th birthday, I decided that I needed to speak out. I needed to celebrate my courage and tell people I am not afraid of anything. Especially telling the truth about me, the Arab culture I live in, and the messed up things that people do and get away with. So I decided to talk, and here I am now with a successful and active blog where people can appreciate an Arab girl speaking out about her culture and life. Currently, I am a Multimedia Programmer and I love technology and graphic art and it defines me as a person. It is my career choice and I love it. I never regret ever going through this field. It was hard for me to have such a life style change from being a Biology/Chemistry Ace in high school and first two years of University. I changed my major to Computer Science because I wanted an easy way to make money. I did find the easy way to make money, but there are TOO many of us in the technology field. We are like ants invading the modern world. Where can we place our selves in this modern era?

Yes, I am single, happy and not having to deal with any relationships anymore. I used to have someone back in the old days for 4 years with a fellow Palestinian guy who was almost a year older than me. It ended horribly about a year ago and this blog ignited many problems and solved many problems at the same time. It is hard to accept an Arab girl telling the truth. I found that out the hard way and men just can’t accept hearing the truth from a girl.

Now a day, my blog writing uses a lot of sarcasm and negative connotations. That’s fine, it is the only place where I can express my self freely. I have very stern opinions about my life and I don’t mind using an angry writing tone. It amuses me and my readers.

Thanks for reading the About Me page.

As you can see her life she think sucks, and you lets you know this in ever detail.

Please check out her site, read her posts (Loads of gems to be found)
