Blog of the week #5

Turnip of Power is one of the top dogs of Entrecard. He was one of the first bloggers to hit the EC community and use it to drive traffic to his website. He has since had interviews with the creators of Entrecard and is one of the main comunity members.
Love him or hate him you have to give him credit for what he has achieved in a short space of time. He is one of the main EC Credit sellers and I am sure makes a small profit from Entrecard.
On his website you will find a lot of great tips, drop lists and interviews… Along with many Entrecard events that members hold.
Check out his website (I am sure you already have)

I must have been sick in bed when this was posted, because I totally missed it. I joined entrecard around the end of December in order to promote tech.turnipofpower.com. At the time, turnipofpower.com was largely forgotten. I got so much traffic, I figured why not sign up my other blog? Turns out, I had quite a bit to say about entrecard. The entrecarders at the time were largely clueless about how to drop cards efficiently, and I had several answers. The public enjoyed it and have been returning to read my blog ever since.
As for selling credits, I was the first to use the paypal widget. Something many others have “borrowed”. Unfortunately, Graham has allowed 3rd world goldseller types to register an unlimited number of blogspot splogs and undermine the market. With credits selling for $4 per 1000, I’m no longer selling.
My other claim to fame was being the first to introduce an “above the fold bookmark list”. Now I see entire sites dedicated to that concept. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but it’s lame when people blindly rip off your list without even a backlink saying thanks.
Another first was transacting a business deal outside of Entrecard using Entrecredits. I purchased Turnipofpower T-shirts using entrecredits in conjunction with shopdogdiaries.com.
Sure I have many fans, and just as many critics. Being honest and outspoken is why people read my site. I’m not some mindless schill who pushes crap just to make a few affiliate dollars. If
an advertising deal sucks, I’ll say why I feel that way. Those who put down my site as being new (Oct 17 2007), being too much about entrecard, or being an internet marketing site are petty jealous people. Just check my average number of comments per post to see if readers enjoy my site or not.
Anyway, a belated thanks for the review. I wish I had noticed it sooner. I happened to be checking something in Google and this post caught my eye.
