Firefox VS Internet Explorer - My edition

One of the big wars on the Internet has always been FireFox (FF) vs Internet Explorer (IE) over the last few years. I have always noticed that most of the people who use FF are computer users who spend a lot of time online, where as most the users who use IE either do not spend much time online or think IE is the only thing you can use to look at websites.

I switched from Sitemeter to Google Analytics two days ago and have spent some time getting to know the interface. I noticed something I have not looked at before… What browsers people use to look at my blog.

I think it is a important thing for any blogger to know what software people use as so many browsers display blogs differently. I have had issues with IE and FF in the past, and not so long ago I had some issues with sidebars moving in IE but they looked fine in FF… and loads more that ill not bore you with.

The rest are a mix.

Well it looks like most of my users are good old FireFox users! It makes me happy as this is what I mainly use to test this blog and I know it 99% works fine in. I guess it also shows what types of users I have and that the Browser war is still going strong and someone is kicking Micro$ofts ass for once.

Entrecard Burnout: Takedown

I wrote a week ago about my Entrecard Burnout and thought while I stopped dropping I would see how it really effected my stats for a week or so.

I had stopped dropping about 1 week before I wrote my article on the burnout so please take the stats from before that.

I also thought id give you a site to compare mine with… So i randomly took my old local papers stats (It was a random pick….) so here is a local papers stats with mine.

AdSense VS Project Wonderful UPDATE: 2

The long overdue update on the AdSense vs PW is here (Thanks Mack for remding me).

This is a tiny test I have been running for a month or two. It has been a test that I will continue to keep updated and fingers crossed I update more than I have so far

Here are the rusults:

• Project Wonderful: $7.20
• Adsense: $41.20ish (Cant put full amount due to TOS)

As you can see Adsense has really taken over in the race. You can argue that Adsense is getting more space and better placement… Which it is. But I do have a softspot for Project Wonderful as I see it part of the Entrecard community now. It is earning for it spot and is also keeping new ads placed on this blog without me taking much time to update.

I am looking for new and better ad companies because something with AdSense just bugs me., but its staying for now.

I will ad that I have spent $10 on adspace using AdWords which uses Google search for keywords. It works great but I still do not fully understand it.

Twitter me this twitter me that

I have been a member of Twitter for some time now but never really used it. I am now going to try to get into this new type of Networking and see what all the fuss is about.

I have so far only found it very simple and too simple most the time. I think its a cross with Text messaging and Myspace/Bebo/Facebook type of thing. I am not sure how ill incorporate it into my site yet (Or ever will) but for anyone who uses it please let me know and ill follow you.

I would like to try to get some of my normal blog reads on it so I can follow you guys and girls more. So please follow me and ill follow you (Sounds like something I made awhile ago).

For the big users out there if you have any tools or anything that help with Twitter users let me know. At the moment the only thing I use is the site and the Gmail chat plugin.

MyBlogLog = ByeBlogLog (MBL vs BC)

Ive decided to fully merge with BlogCatalog from today. The reason for this is that I do not like the loading times of the MyBlogLog widget and also the switch to the new MBL style. I know you can still use their old style but I can see them stopping this in the future. I feel that BC has more active users and a friendly community of members. They also have a nice ranking system and a cleaner design.

I would encourage more people to make the move as it will greatly improve your page loading times! Mine was still loading thee widget images after 40secs when BC loaded them in under 1. Read more »
