The Evolution of Entrecard - Is it a bad thing?
Written by Lee Doyle on May 19, 2008 – 10:11 pm
I have not been with Entrecard since the start but I have been there a long time and would call my self a regular user. As you may have read I have been having some issues with Entrecard and how it has evolved. This week we saw some new features come to light, a lot of them people have been asking for for some time:

As you can see the EC Admin has been a very busy man and has done some amazing work!
But my question is: Is Entrecard evolving to fast?
I sometimes believe some things in life are meant to be simple and when you go and add loads of things it breaks… People get too much of a good thing and get sick of the taste.
Look at Google and how simple it is compared to Yahoo! and MSN. Just the basics and it works! Yahoo! has everything you could ever need but it is crammed in your face with all the bells and whistles jumping out at you… Google does have tons of features but they are never overdone and they keep to basics.
I think this “Add more blogs” is a bad idea. They are pushing this with the contest so more people will sign up… But this will then cause a lot of spam sites popping up and more credits in the economy… Will these credits just be given for adverts? I don’t think so… You will get farms pop-up as now it is more easy to drop… and be DROPPED ON.
I know this feature has been asked for a million times on the forums and it has been needed….
Maybe this is just me getting old and moaning about change… if it is then just move on… But if this is overdoing it with Entrecard then it could be the tipping point for some people.

Entrecard Debate: Pro choice vs Pro life
Written by Lee Doyle on April 22, 2008 – 8:02 pm
* I do not intend to offend anyone here. I am just taking one side in this debate!
This debate was started by Seeking Serenity and I hope will grow as more people take part in it. If you are a member of the Entrecard community you can join here: Link to forum post
To be a linked member just trackback to this post and anyothers that take part in this. I will update this post with replies using my trackbacks.
This is such a touchy subject that I have had many debates about. I have taken both sides throughout my life and my mind has changed on many occasions.
I have set out some questions that pop-up when I debate on this. Hopefully this will help eliminate some questions and I hope will fix any feelings I may offend.
I have added a question at the end that I think should be here also.
Here are my thoughts, you are welcome to change them.
- When is something alive?
I think something is alive once it has blood running through its veins. if you kill something that has blood and can move… its murder. A baby has its first heart beat at Day 22, Week 5 Eyes, legs, and hands begin to develop, Week 6 Brain waves are detectable; mouth and lips are present; fingernails are forming, week 8 Every organ is in place, bones begin to replace cartilage, and fingerprints begin to form. By the 8th week the baby can begin to hear. Weeks 10 and 11 The baby can “breathe” amniotic fluid and urinate. Week 11 the baby can grasp objects placed in its hand; all organ systems are functioning. The baby has a skeletal structure, nerves, and circulation. Week 12: The baby has all of the parts necessary to experience pain, including nerves, spinal cord, and thalamus. Vocal cords are complete. The baby can suck its thumb.
I do not think anyone has the right to kill something, especially when this person has done nothing wrong and has no say in the matter.
- Should a women have the right to decide on the babies life?
I know the argument is “Its my body, my life, my right to what I want” and that is true! But when you have a living body inside of you that right is not all yours. Most people know that they will get pregnant and know how it happens. If you took that risk (No matter how many precautions you took) then you still knew it has a risk. You have something alive inside of you… You have no right to kill it.
- What is something bad happened?
Every time this debate comes up you always get the “What if ***** was raped?”. There is no perfect answer for this side of the debate because I have no idea what it is like to be this person. I do believe that the baby has done nothing wrong and could be one tiny good thing to come out of the situation… The baby is innocent… No one has a right to kill this baby.
- Side note
I believe that there are many reasons women have abortions… But I think these days it is seen as the quick fix solution. I see so many people have them like its popping a aspirin. if you do not want to get pregnant don’t take the risk! Its very simple.
- My own argument to ad to this
- Should a the man know if his child has been aborted?
This has been in the news a lot in England as some fathers are not told when their child is born and when it/he/she is aborted.
I really do believe the father of the child has the right to know. Many people argue the fact that a lot of guys do not want the baby anyway… Well what about the ones that do?! You cant judge every man the same just because of the bad ones.
