Internet Connection messed up

Written by Lee Doyle on April 28, 2008 – 10:49 pm

I woke up to find my internet connection was totaly gone the otherday. Since then me and my brother have been none-stop trying to work what is causing it. The wireless works and the computer finds its own IP… But no connection! It has driven me crazy and I have pulled the computer apart… Reinstalled 3 versions of XP and even hooked up a old IDE floppy disk to try to do a strange system restore… But still nothing!

Well I finally got it working (10mins ago) after I found out my ISP had blocked my MAC code for the PC (Explains why wireless was working) and I just needed to clone the MAC code for some other working devices. Once I did this and did a new virus/spyware scan and removed tons of rubbish Ben had built up over the years… The good old Google logo popped up on my screen and I knew I was in action! Oh how I love that Google logo.

My ISP will not admit they blocked any MAC address but it is all that explains it. If I revert back to the old MAC code it stops working again…. Hummm… I think I am right.

I have learnt tons from this though! I learnt the ins and outs of XP registry and also about how routers and network cards work… So i guess it is not so bad.

Entrecard Vs Spottt

Written by Lee Doyle on February 15, 2008 – 6:19 am

I have been using Entrecard now for around a month and would like to give it a lot of credit for my blog taking off in this past month (The rest of the credit will go to the British Legal system and Social Services).

Well last night I was reading some blogs when I kept seeing this new Widget called Spottt… I thought “Damn that looks like a rip-off from Entrecard!” but I also took a look at their video and it kinda just looked like a simple version of it…

I thought I would run both for a week and then do my own test to see which has given me the most traffic and see which I believe is better (I think you know which I will pick).

So far I have to admit that Spottt is in its very early stages, well I hope so because it is VERY basic right now! I have earned over 1000 credits so around 500 impressions but not a single click! But my website has given over 60 clicks so far!

I will continue this later next week… But here is a chart that has been made for anyone wishing to join any…. PLEASE JOIN ENTRECARD THOUGH! ITS AMAZING!
