Why I am ashamed to be Britsh right now

I have always been proud to be British and have always been proud of its history. I found myself today feeling ashamed of how our Prime minister (Gordon Brown) has acted on the British workmen that have been Kidnapped for over a year.

I feel the only reason out Prime minister has now acknoleged that they have been kidnapped is because a newspaper got their hands on a new video. Before this we have seen nothing in the news and no commitment from our own Prime minister about his own people.

I know these men took some risks when working in Iraq, but they still deserved the respect of acknolegment from their country.

Why has he waited a year before doing anything? Why does it take publicity to get his ass moving?

These men have been missing for a year! Their families have been told to keep quite about everything and just wait… Wait for what? Wait for their heads to be delivered to their doorstep?

I know publicly acknowledging this would give the kidnappers more power… But they will get that anyway! You cant just leave people to fend for themselves at risk of having their heads carved off!

We need to grow some balls and let our countries heroes know that when they get into any trouble their own country will stand by them! And out Prime minister Gordon Brown needs to grow some Scottish balls!

Is Google all we need?

I have always been a fanboy of Google and most things they create. I was just looking at my laptop and what I use it for when I realised it is mostly Google made programs that I use the most.

What scares me most is that I have always hated that Google does own the internet… I guess George Orwell was right “You will one day love Big Brother” and that is very true. I have grown to want to get my Blogs PR back to PR4 or above. I now feel good if one of my articles is on the Google search first page, and I am now dependent on what Google offers me for free.

If Google left the internet and shut everything down I really do not know what I would do…. Google is the internet for me! They are the building blocks for everything that the Internet is today… They hold info on everyone who uses the it… Close to every page is Indexed and copied by Google, most of my personal data is entrusted to Google… But I do not mind. Why don’t I mind? I have no idea! maybe it is because they offer everything for free… Or maybe it is just me excepting that they are the Internets version of God, and they can strike down on me and my Blog with a swift click of a mouse.

Anyway, here are a list of most of the Google owned things that rule my internet life:

  • Search - I have no reason to use anything else but Google for this! And with the new Google interface that is coming out I am sure ill be even more hooked.
  • Gmail - Google changed e-mailing for me. Before Gmail I used Hotmail and got reallt sick of it. I never checked my email everyday and was sick of having to log in so i never lost my emails. Now I use Google and with the reinvention of email it is so easy and quick! I love the way the inbox works and all the new features that keep being added. Gmail is the most used thing on my laptop!
  • Google Docs - I no longer use MS Office as it costs way to much and is a pain in the ass! Now I can write anywhere in the world and have all my files to work on at anytime. I can share my work with other people and keep it safe and secure…. Did I mention it is also free?
  • Google Talk (Gtalk) - I hate MSNM because of how many features it has! I hate all the images that are replaced by text… It just drives me crazy! So I found Gtalk and am inlove! It is so simple, has a web interface that does everything you need! you can now log into AIM and soon more will be added. I use Pidgin as my chat client as I can log into more accounts… But the web version is still amazing!
  • Google Desktop - This is a new tool for me :) It gives you 1000s of widgets that you can stick on your desktop. They can range from mostly ANYTHING you can think off! Check it out and see what you can find!

Should the media be able to ruin peoples lives?

Everything will be ok! Brainwashed by the media

I have been on the blunt end of the media a few times in the last few years, and have seen the damage they can do. I was just reading about Robert Murat who was accused of kidnapping Madeleine McCann. He had his life ruined by the media and they never had a shred of evidence to back anything up. They tore into this mans personal life and made him guilty till proven innocent.

Is this the day and age we live in now? A world run my the media? They have the power to turn anything into a witch hunt without anything to stop them. Do we all really believe in everything we are spoonfead these days? Is it true if we read it in the papers or see it on TV?

When I have dealt with the media in the past they always give me the line “We have a right to report the news” and “We are just doing our job”.

This is what Waffen-SS said when they murdered millions of Innocent people. I know they are not murdering people, but they do put peoples lives at risk with the words that they use. They have no laws and only care about the story and not what happens after.

Robert Murat life has been destroyed at the hands of just a few people… But millions of people read these stories and made this innocent man go into hiding. He has just won £600K from the newspapers which I hope can do some healing to his life. But will this money give him back the time he lost? Will it heal any emotional damage it has caused him and the people around him? No. We also need to think about how much they made from ruining this mans life, and how much have they made from all the other peoples lives they ruin everyday?

It makes me sick when I see these newspapers and magazines on the shelves which sole purpose is to make people feel bad. You just have to walk into a newspaper shop to see “Britney gets a big bum!” or “Winehouse punches a man in the face”!

These are the types of stories that hit the front page! We have our own men and women dying in unjust wars, people starving to death, and children being murdered on our own streets! BAre we are now conditioned to care more about someones sweat patches at the Oscars then anything that effects us in real life?

It really upsets me to see how much control the media have over us now. They distate what we think and what we know… We really are living in George Orwel’s vision of Big Brother now.

Handing in the badge

Entrecard MODI have decided that I do not have the time to be a MOD for Entrecard anymore. I have so much going on with other things and no time to do the normal modding duties that I am meant to do. It is not just Modding forums it also involves modding websites and dealing with PMs and Emails. It has just got way to much for me to deal with ontop of my normal jobs. I can now spend more time helping people in need and thinking of new ideas for Entrecard :)

I think I would be best suited to being a normal Entrecard member and having less restrictions in what I can say.

i would like to thank Graham and Richard for their help and understanding through my times of need. I would also like to say sorry for not being able to put as much time into it as I would like to have.

A big thanks to the whole MODDING team! I hope to still keep adding to the community and help take Entrecard further.

This has nothing to do with Entrecard, it is just my personal life and time restrictions I have.

Catch 22 - Can you be a Father if your children don’t know you exist?

QuestionFirst of all I would like to take a bit of time to explain that I love all of my children and would do anything for them. This is just a question for everyone, and I will try to explain things as easy as I can with my lack of English skills.

My mother is going to see my two Children on Sunday as it was my Son Jack’s Birthday. She has not seen them for awhile as she is heavily depressed, and finds it hard enough getting out of bed lately.

She just told me that my Ex ex (Steph) has asked me to send some money over. I would love to send money to my children but have now been told  by my Solicitors to keep money I would normally send my children and put it into a savings account.

The reason I am so stuck with this situation is because I feel like “Why the hell should I send money” but i also see the “They are your children” which is why I did send them money before… And ended up paying TWICE as my ex ex lied about me sending money.

I have not seen my Son for over a year now, I never get a Chirstmas card, Birthday card, Fathers day card or even photos… but my ex still expects me to do everything a normal father would do… but I don’t get anything a father should get.

Even before all the crap that is going on in my life started she was a evil bitch. I had my Daughter who was “3″ at the time tell me “Mummy told me you was dead”! And then I had them used as pawns to get me to do everything she wanted. Read more »

‘Tramp’ in church was minister in disguise

image

I am not a religious man at all. I am open about being a Atheist but respect most religions and peoples beliefs. One of my favourite bloggers (Rebellious Arab Girl) has a old post about Honour Killings in the Islam religion which seems to always get some comments every month or so.  Since reading this post and following Monas blog I have changed many of my views on Islam and Arabs in General.

A lot of people think that I must be some sort of Devil Worshipper as I don’t follow the Bible, Koran or read L. Ron Hubbard’s stories. I just believe we are here, I don’t believe that some higher power has written any books or has any disciples do so. I do believe these books can offer some words of wisdom and can help people out of some hard times, but that is as far as it goes for me.

I came across this story in Todays papers which really made me smile. It shows how some people believe that if they just go to Church or your Mosques then all is forgiven and their GOD will think they are good people… But what they forget is if their GOD is real he is watching 24/7.

I do not believe in GOD… But I try my very best to be as nice to people as I can. The one thing I did learn at school was Respect, and that is something I always follow.

Read in FULL here.

Members of a church congregation received a shock when a “tramp” who wandered in off the street took off his wig and hat and revealed himself as their minister.

Former police officer the Rev Derek Rigby dressed in clothes from a charity shop and rolled around where his “dog had been” in the garden as part of his disguise.

The 51-year-old said he told the congregation and John Morris, one of the senior members and a lay-preacher who was taking the Sunday service, he would be arriving 20 minutes late at the Trinity Methodist Church in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, North Wales.

But instead of the expected arrival of the minister the congregation of around 70 saw a tramp walk in and sit down in the church.

Mr Rigby, who was a police officer for 15 years before he was ordained 20 years ago, said: “I was amazed that no one recognised me. I was quite close to some of them. Sitting next to some and they still did not recognise me.”

The minister, who had not shaved for three days, then stood up and revealed who he was. The charade was linked to the theme of the service which was based around the failure of the disciples to recognise Jesus Christ on the road to Emmaus after his resurrection.

Mr Rigby, who took up the post at the church in 2005, said: “When I walked in and revealed myself they (the congregation) broke into a round of applause.”

Speaking about the demonstration, he said: “It was interesting to see the different responses. It is the unacceptable face of charity.

“I had to walk about half a mile from my house to the church otherwise people would have recognised my car.

“I was not in the porch as people arrived for the service I was slightly outside the church.

“I had to scruff the clothes up and I had syringes – used for giving my dog medicine but without the needles in so they were safe.

“I waited until Sunday school had finished as I didn’t want to scare the children.

“I was behaving drunk but I was not noisy or rolling around. I sneaked into the porch where the disabled toilets are and stole some toilet roll.

“Then I went back in to steal a decanter and glasses at which point someone ran after me and took them off me. At that point I was invited in.”
