To your God

Written by Lee Doyle on September 25, 2008 – 4:19 pm

This will offend some people, so if challenging your religion is a weak point don’t read past this.

Should I live my life by these holy books,
Follow them line by line and in between all the nooks,
Could I really live my life by these old fashioned words,
live it day by day, not missing a line, joining gods nerds,

=

These books are so old, full of murder, death, punishment, a world run by gold,
Am I meant to believe that without these books, I’ll be any worse then this person who told?

=

Have you ever thought that without these books,
We would be better, stop judging people just because of their looks,

=

I’ve sat down talked to many of his different followers,
They’ve guided me through his words,
Tried to answerer my questions,
Offered me forgiveness for all my sins,
But I’ve only done wrong in your eyes, not mine, he should know these things,

=

There’s people fighting, killing to protect their versions name,
Bombing, torture, now even suicide, but are his books anymore humane?
There’s killing, mass murder, all in his name,
But they make these look so tame,

=

He’s made to look good in all his picture books,
A white man with a smile, all the things to trick the mind, but not mine, I know his real looks,

=

Am I meant to believe a man who can create everything,
He gets angry if I don’t believe in what I can’t see,
I’m sorry, its not fair, hes pathetic, if he’s really up there,
Do you expect me to believe that he would really care?
I’d rather live my life, follow my rules, learn on my own, be free,
Now just please just expect me to believe in only who I can see,

Dreams of the past - Poem

Written by Lee Doyle on August 11, 2008 – 7:44 pm

Lost In Dreams by `gilad

Its been close to a year now, since they took it all away,
Ripped my heart right from my chest, and forced me to stay at bay,

Missing so many loved ones, while dreaming of past days,
Forgetting how much I loved her, and the memories that become a haze,

I hate myself for wanting her, the feelings should have gone away,
But there is nothing bad in remembering the times, and wanting them to stay,

I’ll hold onto hope as much as I can, just praying its not just me,
To wake up and to see your face, just the way its meant to be.

I’ve changed so much and lost my way, but its not all that sad,
I’ve learnt so much, coped so well, not everything has been that bad,

I dream of you almost every day, its the waking that I hate,
If I had only one word to say, its a simple one, its really just to “wait”
