Final Fantasy VII: Remake?

** SPOILERS WARNING **

Maybe this is old news to everyone and I have heard the rumours for many many years now. The reason I make this post is because I just completed Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core for the PSP and stuck with it till the end of the credits. At the end you see Cloud and Aerith in what is a semi remake of the Final Fantasy 7 intro. The intro has Cloud saying “I am Cloud, SOLDIER First class”.

Another reason I think there may be a remake is there was so many unanswered questions. There was a unknown 4 year gap in which a lot could have happened. There were people who had unfinished tales (Maybe it was just me not fully completing the game though) and most of all, Millions of fans want it done!

I know it would be the sole selling point for me buying a Sony PlayStation 3 Console as no other games have the pulling power of the Final Fantasy Series for me and many other OLD gamers. They also have many die hard fans who have grown up and have stopped playing 90% of the games that we used to play. The only games that have any selling power for me now are Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid games., I do enjoy the GTA and a few other big names… But they would not have my buy a console just to play them.

My Brother owns a Xbox 360 Console and most the time it is just sat idle doing nothing. The only time he ever plays it is when a new game comes out and then it lasts a week or two till he gets bored… Which is why I think the 360 has failed… It has no other uses unlike the PS3 which has the Blue Ray player.

But anyway, does anyone have any confirmation of Final Fantasy 7/VII remake? And if so… Will it be an exact remake or a whole new side to the stories we may have missed.

Got my PSP Lite! First thoughts!

I have been torn between getting a PSP and a DS Lite for sometime now. I am a big Nintendo fan and love their games… But I also love the PSP Lite with its big screen and big home-brew community. After about a week of self debating I decided on the PSP due to its easy modding and it is also cheaper to mod and update than a DS. One other selling point was its new Skype software that turns your PSP into a Wifi phone! Amazing (For me anyway).

I ordered my PSP from ebay and it came all the way from Hong Kong, the downside to this is the waiting time! It took over a week to get here due to UK customs and other normal issues…. Not sure if I will order that far away again.

Once it got here it already had a custom firmware on 3.71 M33 which is a bit outdated now (But stable), so the first thing I did was read up on how to upgrade my PSP’s firmware to the new one (3.90 M33). It was so easy!!! All I did was attach my PSP to my computer (USB) and then upload the new firmware to the game folder and open it on my PC like a game… Then it was done!

Now I have Skype, and all the new funky things you get with custom firmware… I also got a Memory stick with some “cool” things on it and have been able to download more cool things from Usenet.

I have mostly been using Skype on it but also gave the new Final Fantasy 7 game a play Most people who know me know how nuts I am on Final Fantasy so this game was also a main selling point for me the game is amazing so far! It is a perfect hand-held game because of the quick mini games it has. It is a prequel to Final Fantasy 7 but has some of the same feelings to it. Once it starts up you quickly start smiling at the music and remember all the good times It also had some of the lovable characters from the original game pop-up from time to time.

I also have the new Metal Gear Solid game which I have only been on for about 30mins so far… It is amazingly like MGS 2 and feels just like a normal MGS game. The only downside I have found is the controls… Maybe its just because I am new to it but it feels really hard to do some things in-game.

Anyway. If anyone needs any help on hacking a PSP with new firmware let me know… ill give any info you need.

Final Fantasy VII - Crisis Core TRAILER

For the past 10 years I have been waiting for one of two things, #1 Remake of Final Fantasy VII/7 #2 Final Fantasy VII/7 part 2.

Dream come true (Mostly) they have come out with Crisis Core! the trailer is only around 1min long but still it is something, I am upset that it is on the PSP as I do not own one and do not intend on buying one anytime soon…. I also do not own a PS3 but might have got one when I could just for this game and a few others (MGS, FF’s) so I do think it is a mistake to make it a PSP only.

The game really does appeal to all Final Fantasy fans as the trailer is built solely for them, the music strike a cord with my heart that I only get when something to do with Aerith or FF is mentioned (How sad am I).
