Lee’s Interviews: Rebellious Arab Girl

Written by Lee Doyle on May 1, 2008 – 1:50 am

Introduction:

Lee DoyleRebellious Arab Girl
This is a personal favourite of mine. I have been meaning to Interview Mona for sometime now but always felt I might offend her with some of my questions… But here is the interview and I hope one day to get a follow-up.

Mona runs the personal Blog Rebellious Arab Girl and is known for her straight talking no nonsense blogging. In my personal opinion she is the best blogger around today and is a addictive read unlike any other blogs I have found.

Without sounding like to much of a stalker, I feel I have grown to know Mona through her blogging and random rants. She has a great style and is always a pleasure to read.

Mona has also changed my views of my stereotype of the Arab culture. Without going to deep into what I perceived as a normal Arab, she has greatly changed my views in a positive way.

She has also started a Live Webcam which fans can sit at home and watch her look blankly at a screen all day (She does smile from time to time… Not that I watch it much….).

For anyone who is not a Rebel reader, please check out her archive and you will find some gems from the personal blogging world! It is simply a MUST READ!

Interview:

1. You are one of my personal favourite bloggers and have a big following that grows everyday… What do you think it is about your blog that gets people so hooked?

My blog is truthful. I am not fake and I express my self sometimes sarcastically or humorously or just plain dramatic.

2. Your not afraid of annoying people you know in real life while blogging. Do they know about your blog or is it just that you really do not care? Read more »

Diet Pulpit is a blog writen by Lady Rose and her motto is: “Don’t be fool, eat for fuel!”. She writes her blog with some humor and attitude, she also involves her family in her weekly blogging and is not afraid to touch on subjects many diet blogs will no talk about.

Interview:

1. You like to mix humor with getting fit; do you think it helped you to use humor to change your attitude to getting fit rather than the tough approach?

Absolutely, and without a doubt! I would not have been able to stick with it this long (100 weeks so far) without having a sense of humor and poking fun at myself. There are so many obstacles out there, externally (like constant food ads on TV) and internally (coping with unhelpful physicians and health related issues) to just name a few. A solid sense of humor is the only way to go! I started out needing to lose 153 lbs, with congestive heart failure, and rheumatoid arthritis (since age 2) - at age 52 it’s a looooong road ahead to get healthy, but I’m going to enjoy it and laugh along the way as much possible

2. I know many people including Myself who would benefit from your blog. Do you have any plans on marketing your blog more?

I would love to broaden my readership for the blog, but I have no clue how. I just post daily as much as possible and hope folks find me. I accept all forms of free advertising by the way (you can quote me on that! LOL).

3. What was it that inspired you to start your Diet Pulpit blog? Read more »
