Gladiators Pit - Poem
Written by Lee Doyle on April 14, 2008 – 10:59 pm
The sadness of endless waiting days,
No control over life, just endless delays,
Children growing up, learning new things,
Time flying by, lots of promised nothings,
So fed up with hurting and people standing by,
The pain of losing them, no voice of goodbye,
You just stand around, thinking of what might be,
Dreaming of tomorrows, and what you might not see,
Falling in the gladiators pit, forced to fight your loves ones,
The system waiting for blood, cheering for more actions,
I don’t want to do it, I just want it all back,
Now I’m praying for the end, begging for it to turn black,

The innocence of goodbyes - Poem
Written by Lee Doyle on January 19, 2008 – 9:38 amI stood by you when you needed me,
I saw what people refused to see,
I tried to be who you wanted me to be,
I only asked just one small fee,
Believe in me, follow the truth,
Stand by me, when I need you most,
Don’t forget me, and hold me close,
Remember times, remember me,
I never changed, and you will see,
You know I’ll fight, right to the end,
But even from you, I will defend,
To love the past, is to not move on,
I see the light, I’m not forgone,
I’ll say goodbye, to the one I knew,
A smile a kiss, I give to you,
I’ll always be there, to defend my kids,
I can’t do that now, so blame the pigs,
The tall lady in blue with the iron fist,
Who’s mind is made up and can’t resist,
She looks at me with her steel eyes,
If I’m put away there will be more cries,
The person who did it, is still out there,
But YOU got your victim, and you wont care,
So that brings me to the right and wrong,
If you’re sworn to protect, where has it gone?
